Licensed Pool Contractor Serving Memphis, TN
When you hire a pool contractor, you’re making one of the largest investments you’ll make in your property. The contractor you choose will be on your property for months β and their work will be visible in your backyard for decades.
What Licensing Actually Means
Contractor’s License
In Tennessee, pool contractors must hold a license from the Department of Commerce and Insurance. This requires passing a trade exam, demonstrating financial responsibility, and maintaining continuing education. A licensed contractor operates under a legal framework that protects you. An unlicensed contractor has none of those accountability mechanisms.
Bonding
A surety bond protects you if we fail to complete a project or fail to pay our subcontractors. If a contractor’s subs aren’t paid, those subs can file a lien against your property β even if you’ve already paid the contractor. A bonded contractor has a financial mechanism in place to prevent that.
Insurance
General liability covers property damage during construction. Workers’ compensation covers injuries to our workers on your property β homeowners have been successfully sued by injured workers of uninsured contractors. We carry both. We provide certificates before we break ground.
Getting a Contractor Bid Right
A pool contractor bid should be detailed and itemized. If a contractor hands you a single-line number with no breakdown, that’s a problem. You have no way to compare that bid to others, no way to hold them accountable, and no way to understand what you’re paying for.
Our proposals break down every phase, every material, every piece of equipment. When you compare our bid to a competitor’s, you’ll often find the competitor excluded things we included β or specified lower-grade materials.
We also don’t lowball to get the job and then change-order you to the real price. The price we quote is the price you pay for the scope we agreed on.
