American Pool Techs LLC (“American Pool Techs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit american-pooltechs.com or do business with us, how we use that information, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We’ve written this in plain English on purpose — there’s no benefit to anyone (including us) in burying the details.

Information you give us directly

When you fill out a form on our site, call our office, or interact with us in person, we collect:

• Phone number
• Email address
• Property address (when relevant to providing service)
• Details about your project, pool, or service request
• Any other information you choose to share with us

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, certain information is collected automatically by our hosting provider, analytics tools, and advertising platforms:

• IP address and approximate geographic location
• Browser type and device information
• Pages visited and how long you spent on each
• How you found our site (search engine, ad click, direct visit, referral)
• Cookie identifiers (see Section 4)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to inquiries and provide quotes for pool services
• Schedule consultations, service visits, and project work
• Send service updates, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications about your project
• Process payments and manage billing
• Operate, maintain, and improve our website
• Measure the performance of our advertising and understand which marketing channels are working
• Comply with legal obligations and protect our legal rights

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Period.

3. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with parties who help us run our business or where required by law. Specifically:

Service providers

• WPForms — stores form submissions on our website
• Yahoo / our email provider — receives form notifications at our business email address
• WhatConverts — routes and records phone calls for quality and lead tracking (see Section 5)
• Google Analytics and Google Ads — measures website traffic and ad performance (see Sections 4 & 6)
• Flywheel — our website hosting provider
• Lyon Financial and HFS Financial — only if you choose to apply for financing through them (you go to their site, we don’t pass your data to them)

Legal & safety

We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when necessary to protect our legal rights, our customers, or the public.

Business transfers

If American Pool Techs is ever sold, merged, or reorganized, customer information may transfer to the new owner. We’ll notify clients before that happens.

4. Cookies, Tracking & Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to function properly and measure how visitors use the site. The main ones we use:

• Essential cookies — required for the site to work (form submissions, page navigation)
• Google Analytics (GA4) — anonymous traffic measurement (pages viewed, time on site, traffic sources). GA4 doesn’t store IP addresses by default.
• Google Ads conversion tracking — measures when visitors who clicked our ads submit a form or call us
• WhatConverts — dynamic phone number swap for call attribution

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some site features may not work properly if you do.

5. Call Tracking

We use WhatConverts to track which marketing sources drive phone calls. When you visit our site, the phone number displayed may be a unique tracking number that forwards to our main office. Calls placed to these tracking numbers may be recorded for quality assurance, training, and lead management purposes. By calling us, you consent to this recording.

If you don’t want your call recorded, please tell us at the start of the call and we’ll end the recording.

6. Advertising & Remarketing

We run ads on Google Ads, and we use Google’s remarketing features to show our ads to people who’ve previously visited our site. These ads are served by Google across the Google Display Network and YouTube.

You can opt out of personalized Google ads at any time at adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies via the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

7. Data Retention

We keep the information you provide for as long as it’s reasonably needed to provide our services and meet legal/tax obligations. Lead and project records typically live in our system for the duration of the active project plus a reasonable period afterward for warranty, accounting, and service history purposes. Inactive lead inquiries (people who reached out but never became clients) are typically purged after 2 years.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. That includes secure hosting through Flywheel, SSL encryption on our website (the lock icon in your browser), and access controls on our office systems. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we take this seriously.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding the information we hold about you:

• Access — you can request a copy of the information we have about you
• Correction — you can ask us to correct inaccurate information
• Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Opt-out of email — every email we send has an unsubscribe link
• Opt-out of call recording — tell us at the start of the call
• Do Not Sell — we don’t sell personal information, so this is already taken care of

10. Children’s Privacy

Our site and services are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by posting a notice on this page. Continued use of our site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
