See What Real Weekly Service Looks Like
Most pool service in this market is rushed — pay-per-pool models or subcontractor cleaning crews. Our CPO-certified techs are salary-paid year-round employees with no benefit to rushing through your weekly visit. Same tech, same day, every week. This video shows what a real American Pool Techs visit actually looks like.
Every Visit. Every Week.
Most weekly pool service in this market rushes through the visit because of how the techs are paid or because they’re inexperienced summer help. The same care we put into building a pool from the ground up goes into maintaining it week after week. You can’t cheat the system — the results show when your family is ready to use the pool on the weekend. That’s not what we do.
Every weekly visit includes a full 6-panel chemistry test, manual cleaning, equipment inspection checklist, and a written report so you know exactly what was done. Same tech every week — so they know your pool.
A standard weekly visit runs 20 minutes to an hour on a residential pool — depending on size, season, and what we find when we arrive.
Here’s what your tech is actually doing
Walk the deck, check water level, scan for obvious issues — broken tile, equipment leaks, debris in skimmers.
Sounds basic. Most fly-by services skip it.
Leaves, bugs, pollen — anything floating on top.
Prevents the algae and mineral buildup that creates rings and rough spots.
Manual vacuum on the dirty spots, or we’ll run your robot if you have one and we agreed to that.
Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, and phosphates. Adjusted as needed with chemicals included in the service.
Pressure gauge tells us when. Sand filters get backwashed weekly as part of the standard visit.
Pump pressure, heater function, salt cell chlorination output, automation status. Anything off, we note it and follow up with a repair quote.
Chemistry readings, what was done, what we noticed, what needs attention next visit. Emailed on request.
Getting Started on Weekly Service
Onboarding a new weekly pool service pool takes a few visits to get the chemistry dialed in and figure out the habits of the pool based on its environment. If your pool was built by American Pool Techs, we already know the equipment and chemistry baseline. After that, it’s a steady weekly rhythm.
Initial Site Visit
We meet at your pool, walk through everything — equipment pad, automation, any quirks you know about — and get the basics on file. We test the water and take baseline readings.
Pool Assessment Report
If anything jumps out — a slow leak, a worn skimmer, an undersized pump for the pool — we flag it in writing. No upsell pressure, just visibility into what’s actually happening.
First Service Visit
Tech shows up on the assigned day, does the full visit, leaves a service report. If chemistry was way off from baseline, expect more aggressive adjustments this visit.
Chemistry Stabilization
First three or four visits, the chemistry might need bigger swings to get into a stable range. By the end of the first month, most pools settle into a predictable pattern — same as we see after a fresh spring pool opening.
Ongoing Weekly Service
Same tech, same day every week, same routine. You get a service report every visit. If anything needs attention — equipment, repairs, seasonal work — we tell you straight before doing it.
The Things That Actually Matter
Talking to enough customers over twenty years tells you what they actually care about. It’s not marketing — it’s the boring stuff.
Same Tech Every Week
You’re not getting a different person every visit. Your tech knows your pool, your equipment, your dog.
Written Service Reports
Every visit ends with a report. Chemistry, work performed, anything noticed. You see it all.
Full 6-Panel Chemistry
Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium, cyanuric acid, salt (if applicable), and phosphates. Not just a chlorine strip check.
Manual Vacuum & Brush
Robots have their place, but a manual vacuum and weekly brush is how you actually keep a pool clean.
Equipment Monitoring
We watch pump pressure, salt cell output, heater function. Small issues caught before they become big repair problems.
Email Reports
Service reports come to your email. No need to be home, no paper to lose.
Chemicals Your Way
Pay for chemicals used each visit, or pick our chemicals-included package. You choose what fits your needs.
Consistent Day Each Week
Your CPO tech shows up on the same day every week. If weather pushes it, we run the next day weather allows. No hopping around.
No Long-Term Contract
Month-to-month. If we’re not doing right by you, you’re not stuck.
