See What Real Weekly Service Looks Like

Most pool service in this market is rushed — pay-per-pool models or subcontractor cleaning crews. Our CPO-certified techs are salary-paid year-round employees with no benefit to rushing through your weekly visit. Same tech, same day, every week. This video shows what a real American Pool Techs visit actually looks like.

What’s Included

Every Visit. Every Week.

Most weekly pool service in this market rushes through the visit because of how the techs are paid or because they’re inexperienced summer help. The same care we put into building a pool from the ground up goes into maintaining it week after week. You can’t cheat the system — the results show when your family is ready to use the pool on the weekend. That’s not what we do.

Every weekly visit includes a full 6-panel chemistry test, manual cleaning, equipment inspection checklist, and a written report so you know exactly what was done. Same tech every week — so they know your pool.

A standard weekly visit runs 20 minutes to an hour on a residential pool — depending on size, season, and what we find when we arrive.

The Visit, Step by Step

Here’s what your tech is actually doing

Step 1
Visual inspection

Walk the deck, check water level, scan for obvious issues — broken tile, equipment leaks, debris in skimmers.

Step 2
Empty skimmer & pump baskets

Sounds basic. Most fly-by services skip it.

Step 3
Skim surface debris

Leaves, bugs, pollen — anything floating on top.

Step 4
Brush waterline, walls & steps

Prevents the algae and mineral buildup that creates rings and rough spots.

Step 5
Vacuum the pool floor

Manual vacuum on the dirty spots, or we’ll run your robot if you have one and we agreed to that.

Step 6
Full 6-panel chemistry test

Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, and phosphates. Adjusted as needed with chemicals included in the service.

Step 7
Filter check & weekly backwash

Pressure gauge tells us when. Sand filters get backwashed weekly as part of the standard visit.

Step 8
Equipment check

Pump pressure, heater function, salt cell chlorination output, automation status. Anything off, we note it and follow up with a repair quote.

Step 9
Written service report

Chemistry readings, what was done, what we noticed, what needs attention next visit. Emailed on request.

How It Works

Getting Started on Weekly Service

Onboarding a new weekly pool service pool takes a few visits to get the chemistry dialed in and figure out the habits of the pool based on its environment. If your pool was built by American Pool Techs, we already know the equipment and chemistry baseline. After that, it’s a steady weekly rhythm.

1
Week 1

Initial Site Visit

We meet at your pool, walk through everything — equipment pad, automation, any quirks you know about — and get the basics on file. We test the water and take baseline readings.

2
Week 1

Pool Assessment Report

If anything jumps out — a slow leak, a worn skimmer, an undersized pump for the pool — we flag it in writing. No upsell pressure, just visibility into what’s actually happening.

3
Week 2

First Service Visit

Tech shows up on the assigned day, does the full visit, leaves a service report. If chemistry was way off from baseline, expect more aggressive adjustments this visit.

4
Weeks 2–4

Chemistry Stabilization

First three or four visits, the chemistry might need bigger swings to get into a stable range. By the end of the first month, most pools settle into a predictable pattern — same as we see after a fresh spring pool opening.

5
Week 5+

Ongoing Weekly Service

Same tech, same day every week, same routine. You get a service report every visit. If anything needs attention — equipment, repairs, seasonal work — we tell you straight before doing it.

What Makes Our Service Different

The Things That Actually Matter

Talking to enough customers over twenty years tells you what they actually care about. It’s not marketing — it’s the boring stuff.

👤

Same Tech Every Week

You’re not getting a different person every visit. Your tech knows your pool, your equipment, your dog.

📋

Written Service Reports

Every visit ends with a report. Chemistry, work performed, anything noticed. You see it all.

🧪

Full 6-Panel Chemistry

Chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium, cyanuric acid, salt (if applicable), and phosphates. Not just a chlorine strip check.

🧹

Manual Vacuum & Brush

Robots have their place, but a manual vacuum and weekly brush is how you actually keep a pool clean.

⚙️

Equipment Monitoring

We watch pump pressure, salt cell output, heater function. Small issues caught before they become big repair problems.

📱

Email Reports

Service reports come to your email. No need to be home, no paper to lose.

🧴

Chemicals Your Way

Pay for chemicals used each visit, or pick our chemicals-included package. You choose what fits your needs.

🗓️

Consistent Day Each Week

Your CPO tech shows up on the same day every week. If weather pushes it, we run the next day weather allows. No hopping around.

🤝

No Long-Term Contract

Month-to-month. If we’re not doing right by you, you’re not stuck.

Common Questions

What Weekly Service Clients Ask

The questions we get most often when someone’s looking to get on the route.

How much does weekly pool service cost?
Pricing depends on pool size, equipment, and whether you want our chemicals-included or pay-per-use package. Call (901) 755-3000 and we’ll give you a real number after a quick conversation about your pool — no generic “starting at” pricing that turns into something different later.
Do I need to be home for the visit?
No — as long as we have access to the pool and equipment, we’ll service it. Many of our clients are at work during the visit. The service report comes by email regardless.
What if my chemistry is way out of range?
We’ll adjust as needed. Sometimes the solution is dilution — draining the pool a little at a time and refilling to stabilize chemical levels. It depends on what’s out of range and by how much.
Can you handle salt systems and automation?
Yes — our certified techs are trained on all 3 major brands: Hayward, Jandy, and Pentair.
What about chemistry between visits?
We balance the water at each weekly visit so it carries through the week. If you have something unusual going on between visits — heavy rain, a party, lots of guests — give us a call and we’ll talk through it.
Do you do one-time cleanings?
Yes, we do one-time clean-ups. Whether it’s a pre-party rush, a vacation rental turnover, or you want to see if you like the work before signing on for weekly service.
What happens if my equipment breaks?
You’re notified and we email a quote for the equipment repair. Upon your approval, the repair is made. No unauthorized repairs are ever made without your consent.
Can I skip a week when I’m on vacation?
If the pool is open, it needs to be serviced once every 7 days. Skipping a week creates chemistry problems that cost more to fix than the visit you skipped — especially in Memphis summers. (If you’re heading out for the season, schedule a pool closing instead.)
How quickly can you start?
Typical time from executed service agreement to first visit is 1 week. We slot you into the route that covers your area on the day your tech runs that neighborhood.
Financing Available

Equipment Upgrades From $499/Month

If your weekly service visit uncovers equipment that needs replacing, flexible financing is available for new equipment installs, salt system conversions, and automation upgrades.
